The Privacy Disclosure of Montgomery County Credit Union

The protection of our members' privacy and the safekeeping of confidential information is of utmost concern to the Credit Union.  It is the Credit Union's intent to comply with all applicable laws and regulations concerning the treatment of both member and non-member information, and to educate our members as to their privacy rights under law.  The policy outlines the purposes for which member information will be collected and released outside of the Credit Union.

INFORMATION COLLECTED:  The Credit Union will only collect that information necessary to establish an ongoing relationship with members and joint account holders.  Information on an individual member may be collected from a variety of sources, including the member's signature card, loan application, and credit bureaus.  Furthermore, the Credit Union will take reasonable precautions to protect the accuracy and reliability of member information.

INFORMATION SHARED ABOUT YOU:  The Credit Union will not sell nonpublic personal information about its' members to any third party.  The Credit Union may disclose nonpublic personal information about an individual member or members with member consent, in order to effect a transaction, to protect the Credit Union's interest, or for other purposes permitted by law and regulation.

THIRD PARTY PRIVACY STANDARDS:  The Credit Union will only disclose nonpublic personal information about its' members to affiliates and third parties who demonstrate a consistent commitment to the protection of the confidentiality of member information, and who have adopted privacy policies comparable to those adpoted by the Credit Union.

SECURITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY:  As part of the Credit Union's commitment to protect the confidentiality of member account information, the Credit Union will establish procedures for periodically training staff on the importance of member privacy and the Credit Union's Privacy Policy.  Staff will only be permitted to access member account information when necessary for business reasons.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY:  Montgomery County Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its' members.  Members can help by following these simple guidelines:

• Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PIN (personal identification number), and passwords.  Never keep your PIN with your Debit or Credit Card..  This could provide free access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen. 
• Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, etc. to other persons.
• Keep your personal information with us CURRENT.  It is important that we have current information on how to reach you.  If your address of phone number changes, please let us know.
